This morning when we awoke, winter was breathing her last icy breaths....the chill of fog appearing with each exhale. And, then, just over two hours ago, spring arrived!
To be honest, as the sun sets in Ohio and the temperatures drop again, it continues to feel just as it did this morning.
But the daffodils and the cherry trees and the tulip trees are all bearing witness: it is Spring, indeed.
There is a hopefulness in this season as we witness this testimony to new life and resurrection. Reminders of the ongoing way Creation tells us of the Great Rhythm.
Rather than a poem for this day, I share this wisdom from the German mystic Rainier Maria Rilke: "Spring has returned. The earth is like a child that knows poems."
