50 Days of Gratitude: Day 5

We stopped for the day in Monterey, California, which is a new city for both of us. Our mid-afternoon arrival meant that we could check in to our hotel, take a breath, and then set out to explore. Which we did. I think every beach town must be required to have a candy shop that sells taffy and candy/caramel apples and an array of delicious confections. There were three such shops in a row on the boardwalk. We purchased a little treat that we enjoyed by the fireplace in our room on this unseasonably cool April night.

Sweet treats. I’m thankful for them on this day.
