One of the small tasks I’ve been tending to as we’ve traveled has been to click “Unsubscribe” to the myriad of Columbus related emails that regularly arrive in my Inbox. There’s Axios, a really nice source for local news and event information. There are a number related to our beloved Bexley neighborhood. There are those related to the festivals, concerts, exhibitions, and shows we were able to enjoy over these two and half years. Together, they tell the story of how we engaged with the community, what we saw and experienced, where we went, who we met.
Columbus is a surprising city. It’s a blue island in a red sea. It’s a foodie’s playground. It’s easy to navigate. I’ll likely say more about that in this 50 day gratitude exercise.
For this day, I’m grateful for the very specific ways we were able to enjoy the gifts of this city. For the Vivo Chamber music concerts, for the Short North Theatre, for the Columbus Museum of Art, for the Franklin Park Conservatory, for the ProMusica chamber music concerts, for the symphony, for the library, and for those who I will, with gratitude and some sadness, click unsubscribe.
