50 Days of Gratitude: Day 15

Recently we decided to take a big leap of faith. Literally. We packed up our lives and put them in storage (okay, our belongings), shipped one car, hopped into the other, and drove across the country to be here to welcome our granddaughter (more about her in another post). And to start a new life (more about that in another post too).

I would be less than honest if I said this decision hasn’t caused some anxiety. I don’t know what or where my next call will be. I don’t know exactly where we will live although we know that it will be within an easy reach of said granddaughter. I don’t know when any of this will happen.

But all around there are signs that all will be well (thank you Julian of Norwich). There is the arrival of said granddaughter within a day and a half of our arrival. There is my Beloved who looked at me as I rocked said granddaughter to sleep, with tears in his eyes, and said “I’m so glad we are here to stay.” There’s our grand-dog who is a teensy bit jealous of sharing her Oma and Opa with the new small human which reminds me that the love of a good dog is one of the best things.

Indeed it will be well.

Today, I’m thankful for reminders of the goodness that is in the world and all around us, reminding us that indeed, all manner of things will be well.

Good dog....
